Vivat la Republic!

"True individual freedom cannot exist without economic security and independence..."

Franklin Delano Roosevelt

August 27th is the a special day for Republic of Moldova and its citizens. 18 years ago this little country situated in Eastern Europe, between Romania and Ukraine, got its Independence.

On August 31 the country got back its Language...

It was a fascinating time, a time when people were looking for Freedom not knowing what Freedom really is. It was a concept and a thought. It was "something" that their Fathers dreamed about, spoke about and died for...

Freedom. Independence. Democracy. New things for a new country.

Today Republic of Moldova is still struggling for its Freedom. Being a very small country with no energetic resources, with almost no industry and depending only on agriculture and its people, Moldova is under the influence of greater powers. History had very hard twists for this little piece of land.

We all know that Freedom of a country depends directly on the economy and its resources. From this point of view, Moldova is not quite Free, geographically speaking.

The main thing is that the people of Moldova are Free. They are Free to think, Free the live, Free to make decisions for themselves.

There is a Generation of Freedom that I love and I am proud of.

This is what really matters.

Happy Independence Day, Republic!

Dear All,

I have not written much in the last 2 weeks and will not be around for another week or so. Yes, I'll be gone fishing, having fun, working, hanging around with friends, travelling, taking pictures, making new friends and spending time with the old once... In couple words: I'll be enjoying life! That's it.

See You!

I'm out of here for another week.

"Gasless" Romanian highway

"On the highway of life, we most often recognize happiness out of the rear view mirror..."

Frank Tyger

I really like this quote because it's so true. How often we do start recognizing the value of some people only after they are gone? How often we do treasure precious moments only after they are gone? How often we are racing towards "something" and miss the time we could spend with our children, family or special friends? How often.....

Oh well, let's look at something different. On one of the Romanian highways there are NO gas stations. NONE. For over 100km there is not even a drop of gas. The worst part is that the first warning sign is after about 45 km. So, if you are travelling on one of the Romanian highways, the one called "Sun highways" aka Autostrada Soarelui, please make sure Your tank is full.Otherwise, You will spend there more time then You would like!

I am looking to be positive so I'll close on a positive note:Maybe there are no gas stations only on this Romanian highway. Definitely it's an exception.

Fill it up and hit the road, Jack!

PS. Are there any highways in Romania?
